Counselling in Glasgow - Finding your best way forward, together

For adults who feel stuck, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or overwhelmed by life and relationships

Services

I offer individual counselling in Glasgow and online, providing a calm and supportive space to explore your way forward.

I support people experiencing:

  • Anxiety and overthinking

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion

  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Feeling stuck or disconnected

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma and difficult past experiences

  • Neurodivergence and masking

  • Identity and self-worth struggles

Individual Sessions

Therapy can help you better understand yourself, recognise patterns that no longer serve you, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.

My individual therapy sessions offer a space to explore what’s going on for you, at your own pace. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or facing a particular challenge, we can work together to understand your experience better and find a way forward that feels right for you.

My approach is integrative, with a person-centred foundation. This means my work is led by you, while I draw on different therapeutic perspectives where helpful to support the process.

I work in a neurodiversity-affirming way and recognise there is no single “right” way to communicate, process emotions, or experience the world. Therapy can be adapted to suit your needs, whether that means allowing more space for reflection, working with overwhelm and masking, or approaching things in a way that feels more accessible and comfortable for you.

Sessions are available in person or online and cost £45 for 60 minutes.

If you’d like to enquire about current availability or have any questions, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

Fees are reviewed periodically.

About

Welcome. I'm Ross, a BACP-registered Person-Centred therapist who believes in the healing power of relationships. At The Supporting Space, I take a holistic approach to mental health, putting your lived experience at the centre of our time together.

Part of what led me into counselling was my own experience of therapy and the difference it made to my relationship with myself. Being a client helped me understand how vulnerable — and also how relieving — it can be to open up to someone and feel genuinely heard without judgement.

That experience continues to shape the way I work. I aim to offer therapy that feels human, grounded, and collaborative rather than clinical or distant.

Whether you are struggling with difficult life transitions, feeling pulled in multiple directions by complex choices, or need space to be and to breathe, The Supporting Space exists to help you find a way forward that is true to you

My Approach

A Commitment to Confidentiality

Confidentiality is at the core of my therapy practice. I prioritise privacy and trust, ensuring that your personal information and sessions remain completely confidential.

A Non-Judgmental Space

Having been a client myself, I understand that choosing to go to therapy can be a daunting step. I provide a compassionate and understanding environment where you can feel heard, validated, and supported throughout your journey. Only when we are fully seen and heard without judgment can we discover our authentic feelings.

A Person-Centred Foundation

I believe that authenticity is at the core of healing and growth. This means that, despite my training, I work in a way that ensures that I am always challenging myself to reinvent what it means to be a therapist in relation to the person in front of me. A core value of my practice is that each client is the greatest expert on their unique lived experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are sessions with you like?

Sessions are reflective, supportive, and led by what feels important to you. I don’t believe you need to arrive with everything neatly explained or know exactly where to begin. Together, we can explore difficult emotions, recurring patterns, relationships, identity, or experiences that may feel hard to make sense of alone.

I work integratively, meaning I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs, while keeping the work centred around your individual experience and pace.

How do I schedule an appointment?

A contact form is available on this website. Contact me via phone or email to book a convenient time for your initial consultation (15 minutes, with no obligation or fee).

What can I expect during a therapy session?

You can expect a safe and confidential environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings. I will listen attentively, offer my understanding of what you bring, and work collaboratively with you on any areas that seem unclear or difficult.

However, in the initial stages of therapy, I will rarely offer direct advice or guidance as the "expert" in the room. Therapy that has a Person-Centred foundation is client-led, and I trust and value my clients' intuition about what most needs attention and the pace at which things should be explored.

Is there any paperwork or a contract?

Before we begin working together, we’ll go through a simple agreement that outlines how sessions work, including confidentiality, fees, and cancellations.

This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and make sure you feel comfortable with how we’ll work together. We can also revisit this at any point if needed.

"The touchstone of validity is my own experience. No other person's ideas, and none of my own ideas, are as authoratative as my own experience. It is to experience that I must return, again and again, to discover a closer aproximation to truth as it is in the process of becoming me."
